The criteria used* for this text will be a combination of the following:
Number of goals conceded
The goalkeeper with the lowest number of goals conceded is an important indicator for defining the 10 best Brazilian goalkeepers.
Number of decisive saves
Another important topic for analysis is the number of times this goalkeeper has been decisive for his team, making saves that have prevented defeats and eliminations.
Longer without conceding
This qualifier refers to minutes played x goals conceded. It is also indispensable for listing the best Brazilian goalkeepers in activity.
*As we’re talking about professionals who play both here and abroad, we’ll take into account, for those who play abroad: the most important championships in which they currently play. For those playing in Brazil: the 2023 Brasileirão and the 2024 state championships.

A first-choice keeper for Manchester City, he played a crucial role in the Citizens winning the triple crown during Pep Guardiola’s reign, as well as contributing significantly to the historic victory in the Champions League. He was voted the best goalkeeper of the 22/23 season by FIFA.

- Alisson from Liverpool (England)
Winner of FIFA’s Best Goalkeeper in the World 2019 award, Alisson is still a big name when we talk about the best Brazilian goalkeepers today. Still at Liverpool, the goalkeeper has been indispensable to all the achievements of the Reds since he arrived.

- Weverton from Palmeiras
Voted the best goalkeeper in the 2023 Brasileirão, Weverton has been a recurring name in the call-ups for the Seleção and has been a starter on several occasions. The Palmeiras goalkeeper was one of the least goalscorers in the league last season, and was one of the main names in the Alviverde’s title triumph.

- Lucas Perri from Lyon (France)
The former Botafogo man made 29 appearances in the 2023 Campeonato Brasileiro, playing a decisive role in more than 50% of them. Now at Lyon, the Brazilian promises to make history in Ligue 1 and help the team win European titles.

- Éverson from Atlético-MG
Galo’s 1.92 cm goalkeeper played almost every game in the Brazilian Championship and made 17 saves that were considered decisive. His excellent performance in the 2024 Campeonato Mineiro earned him fifth place in our list of the best Brazilian goalkeepers.

As well as being the seventh goalkeeper to concede the fewest goals in last year’s Brasileirão, Bento has put in some excellent and decisive performances for the Paraná side. His consistency and good reflexes have earned him his first call-up to the Brazilian national team.

- Andrew from Gil Vicente (Portugal)
A native of Botafogo, the 22-year-old goalkeeper has made a name for himself in Portugal. His performance and rapid adaptation to his new club earned him a call-up to this year’s Pan American Games. Today, Andrew is the first-choice keeper in the Portuguese team and one of Brazil’s great promises in the position.

- Cleiton from RB Bragantino
With less than 30 goals conceded in the 2023 Campeonato Brasileiro, Cleiton was the goalkeeper who conceded the fewest goals in that time. The player was largely responsible for Bragantino’s excellent campaign and their unprecedented qualification for the Copa Sudamericana.

- Agustín Rossi from Flamengo
Argentine Agustín Rossi came off the bench to save Flamengo and earned his deserved starting place throughout the season*. Without conceding a goal in the first games of the year, Rossi set a club record at Rubro-Negro. He has now gone over 960 minutes in a row without a goal being conceded, leaving his mark on the team’s history.

Born in São Paulo, Léo Jardim began his career in soccer playing for Olé Brasil in Ribeirão Preto. However, it was at Grêmio that he got his first chance as a professional. Due to his impressive performances, Léo Jardim received his first call-up to the Brazilian national team;
